Substantiating the use of textual analysis to the regional, English medium newspaper with several document reviews proffers additional clarification and aids in addressing the study's research questions.

Results show the emergence of issues on foreign domestic maids, which has been narrowed down and categorised into a theme: the role of foreign domestic workers towards Bruneian women in the labour force. It was a necessity in requiring domestic helpers at the time due to the dual responsibilities possessed by these local women.

This reveals the start of a clear inclination in the transition of Bruneian women from their traditional, domestic roles to joining the working industry; clarifying the alignment of their role and status in the early 1990s with the contemporary era.
