Royal Poet: Al-Marhum Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien

In the history of Brunei Malay Literature, the name of Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien as an elite Potential Brunei Malay writer cannot be denied. Al-Marhum had developed and influenced the creative style to the extent of making him a serious thinker, replete of ideas, opinions, thoughts and interesting philosophies, meaningful and high quality. In the midst of his preoccupation in organising the administration of the country and considering programmes to be drafted, Al-Marhum was still able to spare time to produce number of books of syair poems amongst which are Syair Nasihat; Syair Asli Rajang Hari; Syair Rajang Jenaka; Syair Perkakas Pekarangan; Syair Perlembagaan Brunei (1960) and Rampaian Laila Syair (1966) and all these being discussed in this Royal Poet book.
